Features
The ACT is a small pocket of land centred on Canberra, which is the capital city of Australia. It is completely enclosed by NSW, but operated as a politically independent territory by the Federal (National) Government. It was set aside in 1901 as an area "half way between Sydney and Melbourne" to be the Nation’s capital.

 Climate
Summers are hot (30+ degrees centigrade) for weeks on end with low humidity. Winters can be cold (below 10 degrees centigrade) with rain and fog and frosts. While it doesn’t snow in Canberra, the Australian snowfields are only a couple of hours drive away to the south.

Regional Highlights

While the ACT is the nation’s political capital, it also houses a wide range of National Museums and Attractions. These are listed above, but why not take a visit to venues a short drive out of Canberra such as the Canberra Space Centre.
